Scientology Volunteer Ministers Trans-Siberian Goodwill Tour

The seminar based on the "How to Improve your Marriage" chapter of the Scientology Handbook has proven to be very popular.

Approximately 800 miles to the south east of Moscow a large yellow tent suddenly appeared in the center of the city of Perm and it is bringing the message to the people of the region that "Something CAN be done about it."

This is one of seven Scientology Volunteer Minister Goodwill Tours in areas around the world, the Trans-Siberian team is traveling the entire length of the Trans-Siberian Railway over the coming months, providing courses, seminars and one-on-one help to public officials, community leaders and anyone who wants to improve conditions in his or her life.

As with the Goodwill Tours in Africa, South America, Central Europe, Asia, India and the South Pacific, the team is trained on the technology from the Scientology Handbook and makes this available in booklets and courses in the languages of the regions in which they are traveling.

An example of what the Goodwill Tour can do is what a local coffee shop owner experienced. He was doing very well in life, his business was successful and to all outward appearances he seemed to be someone who had everything he could want. But what those people would not know is that many years earlier he set a personal goal for himself, failed at it and then gave up on ever accomplishing it. And the moment he gave up, he lost the spark in his life. When he came to the Scientology Volunteer Ministers tent and found out about the booklet on "Targets and Goals" it was exactly what he was looking for. He realized that he can apply this technology and for the first time in many years was looking forward to accomplishing his goal again.

A group of firemen from Fire Dept station # 102 wanted to improve how they interact with the people they serve. Like firemen all over the world they are dedicated to saving lives and preserving property. But in their line of work they have to be able to help people who are upset, antagonistic and even those who have completely given up and are in apathy. But this is something they were never taught how to do. The Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour gave them a seminar on the "Tone Scale," a discovery by Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard, which not only explains why people act the way they do but makes it possible to predict how people will behave and ways to help someone move out of a fixed emotion. The firemen were very enthusiastic about what they had learned and saw how they could put it to good use.

One woman was very unhappy with her marriage, was constantly having problems with her husband and just couldn’t get along with his family at all. A Scientology Volunteer Minister gave her the Marriage booklet and it suddenly became very clear to her what was going on. She realized she had never had any trouble with her husband until she cheated on him. She could never bring herself to tell him, and from that point on the marriage got worse and worse until she reached the point she had given up on salvaging it at all. Now she saw that she could turn this around by being honest and ethical.

Marriage turned out to be a very popular subject overall, and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers presented a seminar to a group of married couples, which included lots of examples and drills. Throughout the evening people got brighter and brighter, and one-for-one they realized with surprise that they'd had false data and that communication problems lay behind all the upsets and fights they had.

There was a 12-year-old girl who had a very hard time studying. She did not enjoy reading and even when she did get interested in some subject, she would get annoyed or frustrated and give up on it in short order. Her mother was very concerned, realizing that by not taking her studies seriously, her daughter was seriously limiting her choices in life. After spending a few hours with the Scientology Volunteer Minister the young woman discovered that she didn’t actually know the meaning of the words she was reading. When she started looking them up, with the help of the Volunteer Minister, she was amazed to find she was enjoying what she was reading for the first time she could remember.

With comments like "it helped me a lot," "I felt easier" and "thanks for the kind-hearted attitude," it is no wonder that the Scientology Volunteer Ministers are looking forward to making the tools of Scientology broadly available to people the whole length and breadth of Russia.
