Convention on Law and Freedom of Belief in Florence January 18 and 19

The International Convention on Law and Freedom of Belief in Europe begins January 18 at the Saint Apollonia Auditorium in Florence, Italy, under the auspices of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe. The program is held under the patronage of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCEPA) and the University of Florence.

With the title, “Law and Freedom of Belief in Europe: An arduous journey,” the two-day to protect civil and religious rights of all Europeans by establishing laws and justice enforcement bodies that will apply to all member nations.

The program is organized by the Federation for Freedom of Belief (FoB), a federation of associations incorporated in 2015 to support the EU Guidelines on the Promotion and Protection of Freedom of Religion or Belief and to fight for the freedom of religion, belief and thought.

Following welcome addresses by six respected European dignitaries, the program will move into separate sessions on the following topics:

  • Philosophy and Theory of Law, Sociology of Religions
  • Ideological and Legal Obstacles to the Right of Freedom of Belief in Europe
  • Ecclesiastical Law
  • History of Religions and Legal Aspects of Religious Confessions
  • Law and Freedom of Belief in Europe
