Scientologists Pull Together to Create New Ideal Scientology Organizations

Around the world, Scientologists are joining forces to locate and purchase large new premises to greatly expand service to their members and their communities.

One such group are the Scientologists of the Church of Scientology of Pasadena, who found the perfect location for the their new church—the Braley Building in Old Pasadena.

The purchase of this building was financed by the contributions of more than 1,400 parishioners, with the main organizer being local Scientologist Craig Jensen who drove through the transaction and donated the building to the local church after the purchase was completed. The new Church of Scientology of Pasadena will occupy the century-old Braley Building at 35 S. Raymond Ave. The 51,000 square foot building is more than 100 years old. It was originally constructed in 1906 as a bicycle factory and its "wheel-and-spokes" motif remains to this day throughout the architectural details, both inside and out.

This new breed of church is known as an "Ideal Scientology organization," or an "Ideal Org." Not only are these new churches located in very prominent areas and often in famous landmarks, but they also have a greatly expanded capability to provide Scientology spiritual training and counseling to their members and to help the community with effective community outreach and social betterment activities. New churches like this have opened in Berlin, Germany; London, England; Johannesburg, South Africa; Madrid, Spain; and in San Jose, Los Gatos, San Francisco, Tampa, Buffalo and New York City in the U.S.; and many more will be opening in the near future.

With one-on-one help to members of the community through the local Scientology Volunteer Ministers, programs tackling such social problems as addiction, illiteracy, immorality, crime, and education campaigns to promote human rights and reach young people with the truth about drugs before they fall into the trap of taking drugs in the first place, these new churches are accomplishing what L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the Scientology religion, once described in these terms: "The end product is not just an ideal org but a new civilization already on its way."
